PHCR Project is implemented by Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd., (Cardno), an independent consulting firm with presence across the globe that serves as the prime contractor of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on this program.
Having provided services to governments and donor agencies for years, Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. accumulated extensive expertise in areas including public and private sector reform, human capacity building, agribusiness and rural development, as well as healthcare system improvement and strengthening. Cardno has led a number of successful projects in Armenia, and possesses a thorough knowledge of challenges facing, in particular, Armenia’s health sector.
On the PHCR Project Cardno cooperates with three partner organizations that bring a wealth of competencies into the activity:
| • IntraHealth International is an independent non-profit corporation established in 2003 with a mission to improve the quality and accessibility of health care services for people in need around the globe. With its extensive experience in working hand-in-hand with healthcare service providers, IntraHealth contributes to the family medicine development and quality of care improvement efforts within the PHCR Project. |
| • Overseas Strategic Consulting, Ltd. (OSC) is a Philadelphia, PA based company specialized in strategic communications supporting reforms in various areas including healthcare. Within the Project, OSC leads the Public education component, which, in particular, implies implementation of large-scale public awareness-building and community mobilization campaigns. |
| • American University of Armenia’s Center for Health Services Research and Development was established in 1995 for the purpose of providing multidisciplinary research and development services in the field of public health. The Center provides the PHCR Project with support in evidence-based research and monitoring and evaluation. |
