Armenia Social Transition Program (ASTP), a USAID funded program, was implemented by Padco Inc. from July 2000 to October 2005. The Program provided the Government of the Republic of Armenia with technical assistance in implementing social and healthcare sector reforms. The major objectives of the ASTP healthcare component were to support the introduction of favorable policy and regulatory environment for the implementation of health programs and to create a more efficient healthcare system by introducing modern family medicine techniques as the basis for primary care delivery.
